Jakarta Deputy Governor Djarot Saiful Hidayat recently visited the Ciliwung River dredging project, Indonesia Newsstand announced.
“ We have to accelerate this project because Jakarta has entered the peak of the rainy season ,” Djarot said after inspecting the dredging program on the river at Bidara Cina, East Jakarta.
The dredging and the cleaning process of the Ciliwung river could ease the flow of water so it would not overflow and inundate people’s houses, Djarot hoped.
During the visit, Djarot was accompanied by Jatinegara District Head Syofian Taher and representatives from the Jakarta Water Management Public Work Agency.
