Rijkswaterstaat will carry out maintenance work on the coastline parallel to the Scheveningen boulevard from 19 January to February 2015.

The project should have started on 5 January but has been delayed due to strong winds and rough water.

To ensure that Scheveningen remains well-protected against the sea, the sand will be supplemented on the beach (beach replenishment). The area which will be supplemented is between the harbor to just beyond the Pier.

Once the project begins, crews will be working 7 days a week, 24 hours a day to spray and spread the sand over the beach for just over a month.

The original planning called for the project to be completed by mid-February but the end date will probably be later as well.
