Governor Lilia Pineda has ordered local officials to assist the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in clearing and demolition of all illegal structures in Sasmuan River near the Manila Bay.

This move is in line with the continuous compliance to the Supreme Court’s mandamus on the clearing of all waterways to support the protection and clean up campaign in the Manila Bay.

The governor has inspected the ongoing dredging and clearing operations along the Sasmuan River, utilizing the dredging equipment of the DPWH.

The governor was joined in by Vice Governor Dennis Pineda, board members Joseph Anthony Torres and Ricardo Yabut, DPWH regional director Antonio Molano Jr, Engr. Lita Manalo, Flood Control consultant Brent Berry, PDRRMO Angie Blanco and other local officials.
