Xianghu Lake Dredging on the Way

The Zhejiang provincial government has approved Hangzhou city’s plan to expand the Xianghu Lake Tourism Resort by 2.4 square kilometers. The Zhejiang provincial government has approved Hangzhou city’s plan to expand the Xianghu Lake Tourism Resort by 2.4 square kilometers.

The deadline for the completion of the project has been set for October 2016.

Zhai Wenbin, a resort official , said that “ the lake used to be much bigger and more beautiful in the past and large-scale dredging can resort the lake to its original grandeur. ”

He said that the Xianghu Lake will eventually line up with the Qiantang River and will become the largest tourist attraction south of the river with the Hangzhou Polar Ocean Park, Hangzhou Amusement Park and other facilities.
