Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi gave an interview to Russia’s Sputnik news agency yesterday, on a number of issues including the bilateral relations and Egypt’s role at the Arab and African levels.

In the interview, the President reviewed the New Suez Canal project, highlighting the “marvelous role” played by the Egyptian people to fund it.

Sisi said the Egyptian people’s help reflected the popular confidence in the vision of the state about the importance of the project.

Sisi also pointed out to the Suez Canal Corridor Development project, inviting Russian investors to take part in it and benefit from the investment opportunities which will be offered within it.
