Dredging operations are about to begin in the inner Montrose Harbour and navigation channel .
The dredger Shearwater will perform the job with regular trips to Lunan Bay and Montrose Beach.
“ Mariners are requested to navigate with caution and give the dredger Shearwater as wide a berth as possible at all times ,” said the Harbour Master, Captain Brian Forrest.
According to Forrest, the dredger will make regular trips to Lunan Bay and a number of trips to the beach near to the Golf Links.
“ Regular dredging signals will be exhibited day and night by the dredger. Vessels entering/leaving the port are to contact Port Control on Channel 12 for instructions, ” said Forrest.
