Komatsu Europe International N.V. has introduced the PC490/LC-11 hydraulic excavator to the European market.

With an environmentally friendly EU Stage IV Komatsu engine, up to 11% improved fuel efficiency, an upgraded cab design and enhanced safety and serviceability, this new excavator further leverages Komatsu’s leadership in technology and innovation. Productivity is maximized and operating costs are reduced.

Built on proven EU Stage IIIB engine technology Komatsu’s EU Stage IV engines are productive, dependable and efficient. With a net 270 kW (362 HP) @ 1.900 rpm and operating weights between 46.470 kg 48.860 kg, the PC490/LC-11 maintains the powerful performance of the previous Komatsu model.

Komatsu’s new EU Stage IV engine integrates SCR to further reduce NOx emissions using the AdBlue® additive. With an advanced electronic control system that manages the air-flow rate, fuel injection, combustion parameters and after treatment functions, the Komatsu EU Stage IV engine optimizes performance, reduces emissions, and provides advanced diagnostic capability.

The PC490/LC-11 features a heavy-duty undercarriage and maintains the same high lift capacity and lateral stability as the prior model. The operator can easily select Lift Mode, to raise hydraulic pressure and increase lifting force by up to 7%.
