During the International Aquatic Sciences Meeting in Granada, Deltares will organize a session titled ‘The role of natural ecosystems in coastal protection: Mechanisms, quantification and application’.

Several international experts will discuss to reveal the innovative ways that natural ecosystems can contribute to coastal protection.

On February 26th, Deltares will give two presentations:

– Coastal and riverine ecosystems as adaptive flood defenses under a changing climate (by Bregje van Wesenbeeck);

– Prediction of flood protection services delivered by foreshore ecosystems using space based sensors (by Mindert de Vries).

During this yearly meeting (22-27 February, 2015), around 3000 scientists from all over the world will join in Granada to discuss the latest scientific developments about all aspects of water.
