Urban Dredging Training Completed

In February, 18 Engineers of Dhaka Water Supply & Sewerage Authority (DWASA) successfully completed the ‘Urban Dredging: Planning and Management Training for Officers’.

Now, the trainees are perfectly capable of performing, preparing, planning and managing any dredging project under the UDDP methods that have been used in the urban dredging demonstrations in Kallyanpur and Agargaon.

Dhaka WASA Drainage (O&M) Circle launched the Urban Dredging Demonstration Project (UDDP) in 2014, as part of the Water Operators Partnership (WOP) between Dhaka WASA and Vitens Evides International (VEI).

This scheme is part of a recently started 10-year dredging program by Dhaka WASA to clean all canals in the capital of Bangladesh.
