Dredging at Rye Boat Ramp About to Begin

The Mornington Peninsula Shire Council has announced that dredging project within the near shore area of Rye Boat Ramp will be undertaken from 9 March until 3 April 2015, weather permitting.

The dredge zone will extend up to 350 meters from the boat ramp along the Rye Boat Channel.

Dredged material will be used to renourish the beach area, east of the groyne. On-water plant, equipment and potential hazards to navigation arising from the works will be marked as per IALA standards.

Mariners are advised to exercise caution and proceed at a safe speed when navigating within the vicinity of the Ramp and dredging works.
