China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC), a company engaged in the design and construction of transportation infrastructure, dredging and heavy machinery manufacturing business, has signed a $44 million contract for extension of San Antonio Terminal in Valparaiso, Chile.

The project involves construction of 430m steel sheet piles of Berth 2, extension of the 130m terminal in the south of Berth 3, excavation of the 320,000m3 waters in the front of the terminal, yard construction, etc.

After its completion, the project will boost cargo throughput and promote Chile’s economic development.
