Baker Mallett’s Selkirk office has announced that they have been commissioned by the contractor, RJ McLeod (Contractors) Ltd of Glasgow, to provide Building Surveying services as part of the £31 million Selkirk Flood Protection Scheme in the Scottish Borders.

The main goal of the scheme is to protect 700 residential units, 120 business units as well as critical infrastructure from flooding.

As part of the commission Baker Mallett will undertake over 180 pre and post construction dilapidations surveys of a wide range of properties in the vicinity of the construction works.

The main project started in February 2015 and will progress over the next two years. On completion of the works almost 600 properties in the Selkirk area will be removed from the SEPA flood risk register.
