The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will hold two community meetings on Wednesday, April 15 at 4 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. at City Hall in Sarasota, FL, to discuss the long term Lido Beach shoreline protection project.
Staff with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will present the recently completed environmental assessment for the proposed 50 year project. Residents will have an opportunity to ask questions.
The City of Sarasota has been working closely with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on a long term shoreline stabilization and protection plan for Lido Beach. The proposal ensures Lido Beach would be restored at least every five years using recycled sand coming from the alternating locations of New Pass and Big Pass.
The meeting format:
– 4 p.m.: Presentation by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers;
– 4:30 p.m.: Questions/Answers;
– 5:30 p.m.: Presentation by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers;
– 6 p.m.: Questions/Answers.
