A project which saw the rapid restoration of a number of assets damaged by unprecedented flooding, including fluvial structures and coastal defenses, has been nominated for two awards.
The Asset Recovery Program South East – comprising the Environment Agency and Team Van Oord (a joint venture partnership between Royal HaskoningDHV, Van Oord, Kier and Mackley Construction) – successfully restored over 60 assets in the south east of England.
The Environment Agency and Team Van Oord partnered together to define new ways of working in order to deliver the program safely, sustainably and swiftly to restore protection to homes ahead of the following winter flood season.
This achievement has now been recognized by the Constructing Excellence in London and the South East Awards 2015, with the project nominated in two categories, ‘Project of the Year’ and for ‘Integration & Collaborative Working’.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony at the Lancaster London Hotel, in London, on Thursday 2 July 2015.
