The next major recharge of beaches at Holland-on-Sea has been rescheduled for this week.
With the overall project well ahead of the original program, a small alteration of a few days can easily be accommodated and will not affect the completion date, said Tendring District Council.
The vessel which had been proposed to carry out the recharge work needs to complete her current task in France and will now be arriving off the Tendring coastline this week.
The Freeway is continuing to dredge Calais Harbor for a few more days and is then planned to make its way over to Holland-on-Sea.
A temporary compound has already been set up on the sand between Fernwood Avenue and Brighton Road and the area has been temporarily closed off.
A pipeline is being put together ready for the main recharge of Phase 2 of the new 5km coast protection scheme between Holland Haven and Clacton Pier.
The equipment being used includes a bulldozer, excavator, loader, tractor and pipe trailer and while the operation is carried out people are being asked to be vigilant and follow instructions given by the contractor’s team.
