The Ponce De Leon Inlet dredging project, located near AICW Statute Mile 840-843, is currently underway, according to the U.S. Coast Guard’s announcement.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District, started dredging operations in this area on May 5, 2015.
This cleanup work, aimed to make navigation in the inlet channel easier, will run from 6:00am to 6:00pm with their split-hull hopper dredger ‘Murden’ and the approximate completion date is 11 July 2015.
Mariners are advised to transit the area with caution and reduce speed in the vicinity of the dredger.
