Melanie Schultz van Haegen, Dutch Minister for Infrastructure and Environment, and her delegation yesterday toured the Urban Dredging Demonstration Project (UDDP) in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
This scheme, launched in 2014, is strongly focused on improving the operations of Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (WASA) by introducing cost and time effective dredging methods that will allow them to continue cleaning other culverts and canals in the area.
The equipment involved in the cleaning work includes floating bulldozers, excavators and micro-bulldozers.
