China Harbor Engineering Company Ltd. (CHEC) has signed a contract with the King Fahd Causeway Authority for the dredging and reclamation of Artificial Island A of King Fahd Causeway, with a contract value of $78 million and the construction period of 18 months.
This project involves reclamation of 7 million cubic meters of material and foundation treatment of an artificial island covering an area of some 720,000 square meters, artificial island revetment construction and marina construction.
With a monthly traffic volume of some 24 million people, King Fahd Causeway is an important trading port between Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
After its completion, the project will cement economic and trade relations between the two countries and promote the prosperity of the regional economy.
