The Western Dredging Association presented its 2015 Lifetime Achievement Award to Gregory Hartman at the organization’s annual Summit and Expo held at Westin Hotel in Houston, Texas, June 22-25, 2015.

The award was given to Mr. Hartman in recognition of his 45 years of exceptional accomplishments and his outstanding service to the dredging industry and to the Western Dredging Association.

During his early career, Greg Hartman served as Chief, Dredging Operations for the Portland District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, where he was responsible for directing the engineering design and maintenance dredging operations. Upon entering the world of consulting, he worked on navigation and sediment remediation projects for the Corps of Engineers, port authorities, and private owners. He has extensive international experience, completing projects on all continents except Antarctica.

Greg Hartman’s work focused on coastal and river engineering and sediment transport, dredging and disposal, navigation channel and waterway development, and environmental engineering for sediment remedial design. He shared his extensive expertise in dredging and marine construction in many ways, including leading the Corps of Engineers Dredging Fundamentals Course for 24 years.

A long-standing WEDA member, he served as President and Chairman of the Board of the Western Dredging Association from 1996 to 2002.
