The Environment Agency recently proposed to carry out improvement works to the flood defenses on the Rivers Mole and Ember in East Molesey, Surrey.
The plan calls for improvements between Zenith Sluice, west of Hampton Court Way and Viaduct Sluice, north of the railway near River Mole Business Park, a distance of 3.5 kilometers.
The proposed improvement works will involve installation of ‘safety boom’ devices upstream and downstream of six flood defense structures to reduce the health and safety risks to third parties and to Environment Agency operatives.
