The Environment Agency is developing a major scheme to reduce flood risk to the towns of Shoreham-by-Sea and Lancing in West Sussex.
The EA has been carrying out extensive public consultation and engagement strategies to ensure that the local community have been fully informed of the scheme, and kept up-to-date with project details.
They are now carrying out an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) to assess the potential impacts on the local environment and community, and to decide how best to mitigate against any impacts.
The project team has held 7 public exhibitions and drop in sessions since November 2014.
They have also been talking to individuals in the community to understand how people feel about the proposed flood defenses.
