Nwakama Dredge Nigeria Limited is building the largest cutter suction dredger ever made in Nigeria.
With more than thirteen years of experience in fabricating dredges of all sizes, Nwakama Dredge is now working on the Nigeria’s biggest CSD, the second order from the same buyer. The first CSD is already doing some reclamation work for the owner.
The new dredger will have a ladder length of 22 meters, crew living room with amenities, kitchen, spud pillars and inbuilt capacity to hold 33,000 liters of diesel.
A few days ago, the company organized a tour of the dredge for local and state dignitaries at its fabrication yard in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. Among others at the event were Chairman of NASME (National Association of Small and Medium Enterprises) Rivers State branch, officials from SMEDAN (Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency of Nigeria), BOI (Bank of Industry), Diamond Bank, Ecobank and Zenith Bank.
