The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, awarded a $617,000 dollar contract to U.S. Site Work, from Elk River, Minnesota, August 26, to unload dredged material in Wabasha, Minnesota.

Work is expected to begin within the next month.

The contractor will move nearly 150,000 cubic yards of dredged material from the Corps of Engineers’ owned Wabasha Gravel Pit via truck to a pit owned by Wabasha Sand & Gravel.

Both pits are located near the intersection of U.S. Highway 61 and Bruegger Valley Road.

The Corps is removing the material from the gravel pit to ensure there is enough room for future placements of dredged material from the Mississippi River.
