Dredging the Somerset Levels event, organized by the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), will take place on September 15, in Sunley Conference Center at University of Northampton.
In 2014 Land & Water Services undertook the dredging of the Somerset Levels for the Environment Agency.
The project focused on sustainable dredging and focused on a low carbon project to maximize the reuse and recycling of dredgings, of which 20,000m3 was reused after conditioning on site for bank raising.
The project has won numerous awards including the Construction News Awards for Project of the Year award (Subcontract over £2m) and the Environment Agency’s project excellence award after demonstrating how to handle the environmental challenges it faced.
During the meeting, James Maclean, Managing Director – Land and Water Services Ltd, will present the challenges and successes of the project.
