Wasa Dredging has just released this amazing photo of their backhoe dredger Hector, working on the Alesund dredging project in Norway.
The Hector, built and owned by Wasa Dredging, is a Wasa BHD 12000 dredger with a 250t Hitachi EX2500 that can dredge to a depth of 22m.
This giant started its work in the area earlier this week.
During the project, Wasa will remove about 9790m³ (solid cubes) of bedrock in four parts.
The project is a little different because the blasting area is located about 125m from Ellingsoy tunnel.
Therefore it demands very precise and careful drilling/blasting. The project also includes environmental dredging of polluted masses.
