The dredging program located in the vicinity of Berwick Bay, 20 Grand Point, officially started yesterday, the U.S. Coastal Guard informs.

The dredger Leonard J., owned by Manson Construction Co., will work in multiple locations including Tidewater Point, Berwick Bay, Morgan City and Wax Lake Outlets.

These dredging operations will be performed 24-hours a day, 7-days a week, with the completion date scheduled for November 16, 2015.

Dredged material will be transported via floating and submerged pipeline to deep water placement areas.

Mariners are urged to transit the area at their slowest safe speed to minimize wake and proceed with caution after passing arrangements have been made.
