U.S. Senator David Vitter has announced that the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority of Louisiana (CPRA) will be receiving a grant of approximately $4 million from the Department of the Treasury’s Office of Gulf Coast Restoration for research, development, restoration and preservation of the Gulf Coast region.
This grant will be distributed under the Resources and Ecosystems Sustainability, Tourist Opportunities and Revived Economies of the Gulf Coast States (RESTORE) Act, announced Sen. Vitter in a press release.
Funds from this grant will be used to build and operate a center of excellence at the Water Institute of the Gulf and will focus on science, technology and monitoring in relation to four of the five eligible RESTORE Act disciplines in the Gulf Coast Region including:
