McLaughlin & Harvey’s successful delivery of the £10 million Ness Phase 2 Flood Alleviation Scheme in Inverness has received a Project Commendation from the Saltire Society Civil Engineering Awards.
In total 17 projects were shortlisted, and 4 received commendations.
The award covers all aspects of the River Ness project including design, advance works and Phase 1 of the scheme. The award recognizes the effort of the combined delivery team to deliver a complex project within the city center of Inverness whilst minimizing the impact on the local community.
The project consists of 3km of flood defense walls along the banks of the River Ness, defending 3000 residential and business properties from flooding.
The judges also noted the great effort that the site team made in minimizing impacts on local residents and high levels of community engagement.
