The next phase of the Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter dredging work is scheduled to begin on December 1, the Hong Kong Marine Department (MARDEP) informs.

The dredging operations, set to last for approximately 12 months, will be carried out by a grab dredger, hopper barge, tug boat and one guard boat.

The number of vessels engaged in the works will change from time to time to suit operational requirements.

A working area of approximately 50 meters around the dredger will be established and the yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the dredger.

A silt curtain – large piece of netting used to contain mud and sediments – will also be established within the working area, MARDEP said.
