With immediate effect and for a period of approximately 5 months, the dredging operations will be carried out within the Kwai Tsing Container Basin area, according to the Hong Kong Marine Department (MARDEP).
The works will be carried out by a grab dredger and one tug and two self-propelled split-hopper barges will assist during the dredging operations.
The number of vessels engaged in the works will change from time to time to suit operational requirements.
A working area of approximately 100 x 100 meters around the grab dredger will also be established.
Vessels engaged in the operations will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations, MARDEP said.
