DEME – an international group specialized in dredging, land reclamation, dyke construction, flood defense work, port construction, etc – has just released this beautiful photo taken during the reclamation works for a new fishing port in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
The Port of Abidjan’s general management kicked off the project back in 2014.
A consortium comprising of Sogea Satom, EMCC and Dredging International (DEME) was in charge of the construction.
The reclamation works for the new port were completed before the end of 2014.
DEME’s trailing suction hopper dredger “Marieke”, shown on the photo, took part in the reclamation works.
