People in St Asaph are being invited to a public drop-in session, run by Natural Resources Wales, to find out more about the next steps towards improving flood defenses in the city.
Funding of £3 million was confirmed for the scheme by the Welsh Government at the end of last year, enabling construction to start in 2016.
The scheme will see flood defenses enhanced in the city and at other locations, benefiting 414 properties and the wider area.
Tim Jones, Executive Director of Operations for North and Mid Wales for NRW said: “ We’re continuing to work hard to get everything in place so that construction can start as soon as possible, later in 2016. ”
“ While we can’t always prevent flooding from happening, we believe we have a robust scheme for St Asaph that will significantly reduce the risk and provide effective, long-term, peace of mind for people in the city ,” added Jones.
People can see the plans for the scheme on Thursday 4 February, 2016 at the Council Meeting Rooms, Roe Plas Meadows, between 2pm and 7pm.
The drop-in session follows consultation with residents who have properties that will be directly affected by the new defenses, which took place at the end of last year.
