Brightlingsea Harbor Authority has just released a video about the Waterside Marina dredging project, which is currently underway.

The dredging work is being undertaken by Port Flair Ltd, a small family owned company that operates from Bradwell Marina.

The build up of mud is a natural occurrence and dredging is therefore one of Brightlingsea Harbor Commissioners key responsibilities.

Such dredging requires careful planning, complex survey work, liaison with commercial and leisure stakeholders, local residents and other interest groups, plus detailed consultation with organisations such as the Environment Agency, the Marine Management Organisation and the Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science.

The main harbor dredging project is expected to begin in late 2016.
