Havant Borough Council has begun with the beach management operations along the Hayling Island seafront in accordance with the Beach Management Plan for this area.
The works started on 29th March 2016 and will last for approximately 3-4 weeks.
Beach management comprises both beach recycling and beach nourishment.
The council has appointed Boskalis Westminster Limited to undertake the beach management works for this period.
Approximately 21,000m³ of material will be extracted from the Ness, Eastoke Point and the beaches towards Inn-on-the-Beach, where it has built up since last spring’s recycling campaign.
The beach will remain fully open to the public during the works.
