The Netherlands and Indonesia will intensify their maritime collaboration in the field of port development and shipbuilding, according to the Government of the Netherlands’ official website.

In regard to this, Melanie Schultz van Haegen, Dutch Minister of Infrastructure and the Environment, signed a collaborative agreement with Indonesian Foreign Affairs Minister Marsudi today.

“Indonesia aims to rank among the top 10 of world economies by 2025. The maritime sector is an important catalyst in this respect, and Dutch know-how and expertise are particularly opportune, ” Minister Schultz commented after signing the agreement.

Together with a business delegation from Indonesia and the Netherlands, Minister Schultz, Rotterdam Mayor Ahmed Aboutaleb and Indonesian President Joko Widodo visited Maasvlakte II.

During a boat tour of the port of Rotterdam, the President was informed about the port development, the maritime sector, flood risk management and coastal defense solutions.
