The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has released the Draft Integrated Feasibility Report and Environmental Impact Statement for the Little Colorado River at Winslow Flood Risk Management Study, Navajo County, Arizona.

The study evaluates structural and non-structural alternatives for managing flood risk for the majority of City of Winslow and portions of unincorporated Navajo County for approximately eight miles of the LCR from the eastern end of the Ruby Wash Diversion Levee downstream (north) to the northern terminus of the Winslow Levee.

Alternatives include various combinations of structural and non-structural measures such as reconstructing portions of the existing Winslow Levee and RWDL, levee setbacks, construction of new levees, a flood warning system, elevation of residences and river channel conveyance improvements.

The Corps will host two public meetings from 3 to 5 p.m., and 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., Thursday, June 9, to accept public comment on the proposed flood risk management plan.

The meetings will take place at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 205 Lee Street, Winslow, Arizona.
