With immediate effect and for a period of approximately 12 months, marine works involving dredging, reclamation, piling and construction of seawall will be carried out at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Center area.

According to the Hong Kong Marine Department (MARDEP), the works will be carried out by a flotilla of vessels including two grab dredgers, two split hopper barges, four derrick barges, three jack-up barges, one crane barge and two flat top barges.

Several tugs and guard boats will provide assistance.

The number of vessels engaged in the works will change from time to time to suit operational requirements.

A working area of approximately 50 meters around each grab dredger and each barge will be established.

Several silt curtains, extending from the sea surface to the seabed, will also be established within the working area.
