Plans to manage flood risk across Fife are given the green light by Fife Council’s Executive Committee.
Fife is covered by four Local Flood Risk Management Plans which aim to reduce the devastating impact of flooding.
The plans were produced jointly by the Council, the Scottish Environment Protection Agency, Scottish Water and neighbouring local authorities.
Cllr Pat Callaghan, Executive Spokesperson for Environment and Transportation, said: “ Individuals are the first line of defense when it comes to protecting themselves and their properties from flooding. These plans identify areas in Fife with a flood risk and how the risk can be reduced by working with other agencies and interested communities in Fife.
“We now need to implement these plans, which will bring real benefits throughout Fife.”
