Representatives of the Russian FSUE Rosmorport and Italian MSC GROUP recently held a meeting to discuss the proposed “ Construction of Sea Terminal in the City of Pionersky ”.

At the meeting, the two sides discussed the parameters of cooperation related to joint implementation of the project, the construction phase and subsequent operation of terminal facilities, presentation and promotion of the new sea terminal, as well as creating favorable conditions for development of marine tourism market in the Kaliningrad region.

Within the project, it is planned to construct berths for cruise and ferry vessels. The project also includes bank protection works, construction of protective piers, berthing facilities, buildings, land reclamation, dredging and other works.

When completed, the new terminal will be able to handle up to 80 thousand trucks and 250 thousand passengers per year.

Completion of the construction and commissioning of the terminal is planned for early June 2018.
