Anthony D Bates Partnership (ADBP), an engineering consultancy specializing in dredging and its associated fields, has welcome David Smart to their team.

David is a chartered civil engineer with over 40 years’ UK and International experience in the Dredging and Marine Construction Industry.

Prior to his association with ADBP, David worked for the Engineering Consultant WorleyParsons in London for 6 years, in the position of Director of Ports and Marine Terminals.

Before that David worked in the Dredging Industry for Van Oord and Zanen Verstoep for a total of 28 years.

His last role for Van Oord was as their Global Business Development Manager for the Offshore Division.

In recent years David has focused on the feasibility, design, tendering and supervision of port and infrastructure projects with marine, coastal, offshore and pipeline scopes and particularly those projects involving marine terminals, SPM buoys, jetties, harbors, breakwaters, landfalls, outfalls, beach nourishment, capital/maintenance dredging and rock installation works.

David will provide leadership to ADBP’s business development activities within local and international markets and he will support individual projects with the benefit of his experience on marine and dredging contracts, as well as acting as an Expert witness in dredging and related matters when needed.
