The U.S. Army Corps of Engineer’s Dredging Operations Technical Support Program (DOTS) will launch a new website dedicated to the practice of thin-layer placement of dredged material.

The newly developed Thin-Layer Placement of Dredged Material website will officially launch during the next DOTS webinar August 31, and will consolidate a growing wealth of information and resources on thin-layer placement for use across the dredging community of practice.

The DOTS Program provides direct environmental and engineering technical support to the Corps’ navigation and dredging missions.

“The webinar is open to anyone interested in the topic. The ultimate goal of the Thin-Layer Placement of Dredged Material website is to consolidate, as a living resource, all information and data available from projects and literature relevant to thin-layer placement ,” said Cynthia Banks, DOTS program manager.

The interactive, highly visual tool is the result of collaborative investments from DOTS, as well as USACE’s Regional Sediment Management Program, managed by Linda Lillycrop.
