As part of a nearly $8 million contract awarded on October 6, 2015 to Wesson Group LLC, Johnstown, NY, construction has begun of the barrier beach at the Braddock Bay Ecosystem Restoration project in Greece, NY.
Construction of the barrier beach is scheduled to be completed by the end of the construction season 2016.
This project is being conducted through an interagency agreement between the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and USACE in close partnership with the Town of Greece and the Rochester Embayment Remedial Action Plan Oversight Committee.
The contract covers the construction of a barrier beach:
Braddock Bay is undergoing a restoration project that involves dredging portions of the bay and the construction of the barrier beach.
While barges and machinery are in the bay, watercraft may experience some minor inconveniences and will need to exercise caution.
