The maintenance dredging operations in the waters of the Yuzhny port have been completed, according to the state enterprise Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA).
The project will significantly improve navigation conditions in the seaport, bringing water depths in berths No. 7, 8, 9, 16, 17 and 39 to the desired level of 21m.
During the work some 461,100 cubic meters of dredged material were removed from the port area.
According to the Yuzhny port, last dredging of the port’s waters was performed back in 2008-2009.
The completion of the dredging has improved the conditions for safe navigation and maneuvering of ships in the Yuzhny port’s internal channel and berths.
