The Port of Redwood City has just announced that a large amount of dredging works will be conducted on the port waterways in the following days.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will kick off the channel maintenance dredging operations on the inner turning basin adjacent to port’s wharf 5 on October 9.

This part of the Port of Redwood City’s cleanup scheme will be wrapped up on November 1, 2016.

The dredging operations will occur 24/7 until completion, the Port said in its announcement.

The second part of this dredging scheme, which includes the dredging work in the areas from the inner turning basin adjacent to port’s wharf 5 to the channel entrance to San Francisco Bay, will last from November 1 until December 15, 2016.

Boaters should watch out for the following equipment and vessels that will be involved in the projects: dredge barges and dump scows, survey and crew boats and anchor buoys – white topped with lighting, the Port stated.
