A scheduled closure of the navigation gate at the Stamford Hurricane Barrier coastal protection project on the East Branch Harbor in Stamford, CT for maintenance and upgrade work will take place from November 15 through November 16, 2016.

According to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ latest announcement, the gate will be closed to all traffic in the upright, closed position starting at low tide at approximately 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 until low tide at approximately 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 16, 2016.

The gate closure is occurring in support of a contract to remove built-up sediments from the lower navigation gate chambers.

This work will also involve the replacement of zinc anodes used for corrosion protection.

If the work is completed early the gate will be reopened at that time.
