The City of San Clemente will begin work on the North Beach Opportunistic Sand Replenishment project on November 28, 2016.

This beachfill project work will consist of unloading and spreading beach sand that will be obtained from the County’s Lower Santa Ana River Dredging Project.

The city will bring 12,000 cubic yards of sand to North Beach over the course of approximately two weeks. The sand will be pushed above the mean high tide line for the winter months.

“The project work hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday and is expected to be completed in early December 2016 ,” the city said in the announcement.

The city has a Coastal Development Permit from the California Coastal Commission that allows the city to receive tested and approved sand during the project timeframe that will have minimal impact on biological resources.
