The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) will be holding a meeting today to discuss the progress of the Lido Beach Dredging Project.

The session will take place from 6pm to 7:30pm at the Waldemere Fire Station in Sarasota, Florida.

The public is invited to attend the open meeting to participate in the conversation and ask questions about the project.

“The meeting will provide an overview of the proposed project and an opportunity for the public to learn more information about specific components of [it], including engineering analysis, resource impacts and mitigation, fish and wildlife analysis, and permitting and proprietary criteria, ” the news release said.

“Each project component will be housed at individual stations to allow for discussions with the experts.”

The Lido Beach Dredging Project aims to renourish a mile and a half along Lido Key Beach by digging up more than a million cubic yards of sand from Big Pass and relocating the sand to the Lido Key shoreline.
