The Coastal Protection for Climate Change Adaptation in the Small Island States in the Caribbean (CPCCA) Project, has been officially launched in St. Vincent and the Grenadines on 12th December.

According to the government officials, the CPCCA Project will focus on protecting the valuable coastal resources from the negative impacts of climate change through local eco-system adaptation measures.

It is a regional initiative funded by the German Development Bank, (KfW), and executed by the Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre (CCCCC) with implementation support from the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN), the release said.

The project is being implemented in four countries – Jamaica, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Grenada.

Three projects which have been approved for St Vincent and the Grenadines, and will receive approximately $1.8 million, are:
