The Marine Group has announced that the reconfiguration of the layout at Aberystwyth Marina is now complete.

Walcon Marine has been on site for the past 3 weeks, carrying out an extensive program of works to significantly improve the marina layout.

Several new pontoons have been installed and others have been repositioned to considerably upgrade the access and design of the marina.

The new layout has increased the overall number of berths available and created a number of larger berths.

This is the latest stage of an ongoing development program, designed to improve the infrastructure of the marina, which began when the marina was purchased by The Marine Group in September 2015.

In addition, the marina has recently benefited from dredging and upgraded security systems.

The Marine Group recently increased their marine service offering with the purchase of a water injection dredger.

The vessel is particularly versatile and is capable of dredging in areas out of reach of many larger dredgers, the comapny said.

The purchase of the dredger is part of the company’s ongoing program of investment, which has recently seen the company expand the size of their boatyard and invest in a sealift for lifting boats up to 50 tonnes.
