Bahrain LNG has just announced that GS Engineering & Construction and SixConstruct will begin the offshore construction works for the Bahrain LNG import terminal this month.

Construction operations will last up to February 2019, and will include a significant amount of dredging works, construction of the breakwater and ground piling works for the LNG jetty and associated platform.

Bahrain LNG said that during this period marine transportation activities will occur between Khalifa Bin Salman Port and the Bahrain LNG terminal.

In the statement, the company also urged fishermen, sailors and mariners to proceed cautiously when transiting the area.

The terminal is located North East of Khalifa Bin Salman Port.

The project is being developed to supplement local gas production in Bahrain and ensure capacity to meet peak seasonal gas demand and industrial growth.
